Horizontal Stabiliser Rear Spar

I picked out the pieces I need for the rear spar and elevator hinges on the horizontal stabiliser. I positioned all the pieces and lined up the holes. Everything lined up OK although the spar reinforcements felt like they weren’t laying flush. Wishing I had some clecoes.

The instructions warn builders about the spars not sitting flush against the web and advises to round the edge of the spar to resolve this issue. Mine are doing just that so I’ll need the Scotchbrite wheel that hasn’t arrived yet.

Since I couldn’t really do much more, I re-read Section 5B in the Preview Plans to refresh myself on edging and deburring techniques. Spent about 1hr doing “RV stuff”. Spent another hour or so finishing off little odd jobs like sorting my rivets into containers, making a carpeted shelf for my skins, and making a shopping list of minor stuff I need. Talk about chaffing at the bit. Can’t wait for my tools to arrive.
